ABSTRAK

Indonesia has a diverse culture in which the people grow and the the culture has become the tourist attraction both locally and internationally. The cultural society in Cirebon has become a commodity which has its own selling points. One of the results is that the palace. There are four palaces there. They are Kasepuhan, Kanoman, Kacirebonan, and Keraton Keprabonan. Generally, the palace of the Sultan Sepuh, Kasepuhan is considered as the most important palace because it is the oldest palace which was built in 1529. Meanwhile the Kanoman is consideredas the palace of Sultan Anom which was established in 1622, and it was continued with the Kacirebonan and Kaprabonan palace afterwards. The palaces have their cultural characteristics by its traditions that have been fused in its daily life. The Culture itself is a comprehensive system of ways and aspects of giving meaning. Thus, serving food at a traditional ceremony contains cultural meanings. This is reflected asworn symbols when the ceremony dish. The purposes of this study are: 1. To know the position of Nasi (rice) Bogana in terms of traditional ceremony in theKacirebonan palace; 2. To know the process of preparation, the process, and the presentation of Nasi Bogana and its philosophy in the Kacirebonan palace; 3. To know the efforts of preservation and the role of stakeholders in conserving Nasi Bogana in the Kacirebonan palace; 4. To find out how the development strategy of the Nasi Bogana in the Kacirebonan palace. The research methodology of this study is descriptive qualitative to describe the symbolic meaning of food dish in the Kacirebonan palace. The subjects of this study used the purposive sampling, they are the historians as the interviewees, Pengageng (your Honor) in the Sultan (King) of Kacirebonan, the Queen of Kacirebonan palace, Mrs. Sonia and cook team of Kacirebonan palace. The object of this research is the food dish of Kacirebonan palace especially Nasi Bogana. The study conducted on March 2016 to January 2017. And the techniques of collecting data used observation, interview, and written documentation /picture.
